In the heart of the fashionable Yorkville, Tony Chaar Salon offers a stylish yet relaxed environment for hair design.
Tony and his Salon have been proudly featured in countless magazines. The website’s Press section showcases some of these covers in a seemingly never-ending grid.
Since the previous iteration of Tony Chaar’s website – a Flash website last updated in 2009 – much had changed on the web, such as growth in the popularity of mobile devices. As many of these devices could not display Flash content, a new site was needed.
Tony’s new website features a new responsive design that works well on any web device – including mobile.
Moving the mouse cursor while on the Salon page smoothly pans the panoramic background. On mobile devices, the background is panned by tilting the devices left-to-right.Guests are able to book by email, phone, or through a custom-built online booking system. The system allows guests to choose a service (or services), a stylist, and a time slot of their convenience.
The new website also includes a custom administrative interface, allowing the salon to add new works, make changes to services, set holiday hours, and customize the background image of each section.

As a result of the mobile-friendly design, there has been an increase in mobile and tablet visitors since the launch of the redesigned website in October 2013.
